The case against Chief-of-Defence Staff Ravinda Wijegunaratne for harbouring a suspect by the name of 'Navy Sampath' will be taken before the Colombo Fort Magistrate on April 03.
Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias 'Navy Sampath' is a suspect in the case involving the abduction of eleven youths in 2008/09.
The CID today (Jan 16) had informed court that an investigation was ongoing pertaining to the phone call conversations that had taken place between the two individuals.
CID officials also requested court to postpone the case until a report is presented following the probe.
The Magistrate gave permission for the CID to conduct an investigation on Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne who is alleged to have threatened Navy Lt. Commander Galgamage Laksiri - a witness in the ongoing case.
Admiral Wijegunaratne who was released on bail was present during today's hearing.
