The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has inked an agreement with Yiwu Farpie Power Transmission & Distribution Device Co Ltd of China to supply 25,000 meter covers for its sub-centres located island-wide recently at its head office.
U.S.S. Engineers Pvt Ltd, working for over 40 years as a supplier for CEB, is acting as the local representative of this Chinese company and it has been decided to provide the loan facilities needed for the whole project through the Asian Development Bank, an official media release said on Tuesday.
Through this project, steps will be taken to supply 25,000 numbers of high quality meter covers required by the CEB within a short period of time of six months and they will be distributed among stores belonging to the CEB located in places such as Colombo, Ratmalana, Kolonnawa, Kiribathgoda, Anuadhapura, Chunnakam, Trincomalee, Matale, Kuliyapitiya, Galle, Badulla and Opanayake.
