The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has released its schedule for power cuts along with the list of areas which would be affected during ths time period.
"Due to depleted water levels in the hydro reservoirs, the CEB has to restrict the electricity generation from hydropower plants to save the water for drinking and irrigation requirements, which is more vital at this stage," the CEB said.
Further, the electricity body called on the public to switch avoid using excessive electricity from 08 am to 10 pm in order to assist the CEB in minimising the demand in curtailment.
