Chief Justice K.Sripavan will retire from service on February 28. According to reports the Supreme Court will hold a ceremonial farewell on the same day.
Justice Kanagasabapathy J. Sripavan was Deputy Solicitor General, a judge , President of Court of Appeal and puisne Justice of the Supreme Court before being appointed Chief Justice on January 30, 2015.
He was educated at Hindu College, Jaffna between 1962 and 1972. He joined the Sri Lanka Law College in 1974 and passed out as an Attorney At law in 1976.
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
