The Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy Admiral Safar Mahhamud who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka, visited the Eastern Naval Command, on 26 January 2020.
During the visit, the Pakistan Admiral met with the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe and Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore Prasanna Mahavithana.They held bilateral discussions on the matters of mutual interest and exchanged mementos to signify the occasion. The visiting Navy Chief planted an Ebony sapling also, in the Navy House premises.
Further, on his way back, he visited the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala and watched elephants' activities and the natural beauty of the area.
