A Chilaw Pradeshiya Sabha member who attempted to stab his wife who was on duty at the Chilaw District General Hospital was remanded until November 01.
Chilaw additional magistrate Rakitha Abeysinghe, had issued the remand order on the suspect when he was produced before court today (Oct 22).
The suspect had been arrested by the Chilaw Police after he had attempted to stab his wife, while being drunk following an argument at the hospital.
Security officers had intervened and prevented the man from stabbing his wife when an argument had broken out between the couple this afternoon.
