A two year old girl was killed and three others including the mother were injured yesterday in Nedunkerny, Vavuniya after a roadside tree branch fell on to them due to bad weather, Police said.
The family was returning home last evening when the incident occured. The two year old was pronounced to be dead when admitted to further treatment at Vavuniya hospital after being transferred from Nedunkerny hospital.
Many trees and crops have been destroyed in Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts due to bad weather coupled with strong winds. (Pix and News by N.Lohathayalan)
