The Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Senior Colonel Li Chenglin called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo yesterday, the navy said.
They held cordial discussion focused on mutual interest pledging fullest cooperation on bilateral relations. During the discussion Senior Colonel Li conveyed his best wishes to Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne on taking over the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. Mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
