Two Chinese men were held at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) upon attempting to smuggle Chinese cigarettes worth Rs 2.2 million into the country.
The passengers aged 32 and 36 were apprehended by customs officers with 44,000 cigarettes.
However, the customs spokesman said that the duo were warned and released without a penalty.
