A Chinese national aged 35, bound to Guangzhou, China was arrested by Customs Staff attached to the Bio Diversity unit.
He was trying to smuggle out Edible birds Nests 900 grams, Dried Sea Cucumber -1 kg, Dried Sea Horses 100 grms, 3 mugs made of Kothalahimbutu valued at Rs. 322,000/-.
The detection was made by S.L Jayasinghe, C.S Samarakoon, Assistant Superintendent of Customs.
The suspect was released on a penalty of Rs. 25000/- having forfeited the goods by Mr. Jagath Obeyesekera, Deputy director of Customs

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
