Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara has been issued notice to appear before the Police Unit of the Presidential Commission probing state sector corruption tomorrow (Aug 29).
A spokesman for the Commission told Times Online that the CID Director has been asked to submit documents regarding an ongoing inquiry into the car park of the Agriculture Ministry building in Rajagiriya.
This is in connection to a complaint filed at the commission against the exorbitant monthly rent of Rs 21.5 million paid by the Ministry for its current building owned by D.P.A. Jayasinghe Company.
Meanwhile, parliamentarian Duminda Dissanayake has been asked to appear before the Presidential Commission to provide evidence over the complaint tomorrow.
The building had been purchased on lease during his tenure as Agriculture Minister in 2015.
