An individual has been arrested for the possession of a narcotic drug identified as 'pill', in Pelwatte, Battaramulla today (Jan 21).
CID officials who made the arrest following a tip-off, had discovered over 1500 'pills' in the possession of the suspect.
Investigations have revealed that the suspect is a fruit vendor at the Manning Market in Pettah.
The suspect who has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations, will be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrates Court tomorrow.
