Colombo Additional Magistrate Isuru Netticumara has informed the CID to arrest and produce the chief suspect involved in the murder of national ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen before courts.
The order was issued when the case was taken up before the magistrates court today.
Mr. Netticumara urged the arrest of the chief suspect by pointing out that the individual who has been in remand over the incident has been solely alleged to have aided and abetted the murder by concealing vital information pertaining to the case.
He further ordered the CID to conduct an investigation and submit a report before courts.
The CID was further instructed to identify the indvidual who was riding pillion along with the suspect who had carried out the attack on Mr. Thajudeen. Mr. Netticumara ordered the CID to identify the individual by utilizing the CCTV footage which displayed a name and a number on the t-shirt of the pillion rider.
The case will be taken up again on February 28 next year.
