The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has recorded a nine-hour long statement from former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando yesterday (Jul 15), over the April 21 terrorist attacks, police said.
The statement had been recorded from 10 am until 7 pm, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
Fernando who was arrested along with Police Chief Pujith Jayasundara over the failure to prevent the terrorist attacks was released on a surety bail of Rs 500,000 last week.
