CID records 89 statements during investigation of Presidential assassination plot; 47 Policemen and 2 DIGs among those questioned

The CID has recorded statements from 89 people in an ongoing investigation pertaining to the alleged assassination plot of President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Of the 89, 47 Police officers and 2 DIGs were also questioned during the course of the investigation, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
