Two revolvers belonging to two policemen who were killed while on duty at a roadblock in Vavunathivu have been recovered by the Criminal Investigations Department, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The police spokesman said that details pertaining to the revolver were uncovered during a questioning carried out by the CID on three suspects who are believed to have been involved in the murder on November 30 last year.
The Police Spokesman also noted that these individuals were involved in an attempt to murder the coordinating secretary of Minister Kabir Hashim on March 9.
The suspects had attempted to do so while the secretary was asleep at his residence in Mawanella, Mr. Gunasekara said adding that the suspects have been placed under the custody of the CID.
