Around 7800 persons have been apprehended by the Police as a part of their operation to nab drunk drivers which was launched last month, police said today (Aug 9).
This operation had been launched on July 5 in a bid to crackdown on drunk drivers who have been involved in several accidents in the recent past.
Police had decided to extend this operation throughout the year after initally announcing it as a one-month exercise. Issuing a press release, Police said that 136 drunk drivers had been apprehended over the last 24 hours.
