Cloudy skies and showery conditions expected today, particularly in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces, Met. Department reported.
This situation will occur due to the influence of the atmospheric disturbance in the Bay of Bengal, which still persists in the South-east to Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern, Uva, Southern and Western provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 pm.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
