The Colombo High Court has lifted the travel ban imposed on former Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena who was charged over allegations of illegal acquisition of assets.
The former Minister is expected to travel to Norway, to attend a workshop on the Norwegian governing system and thereby sought an order lifting the travel ban imposed from September 30 to October 16.
Accordingly, Colombo High Court Judge Sampath Wijeyratne ordered the release of Rohitha Abeygunawardena's passport while also granting a bail bond of Rs 1 million while lifting the travel ban imposed on him.
