Commercial activities at the Nelum Kuluna (Lotus tower) will commence by March, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) said.
The Tower which is 350 meters in height and has a floor area of 30,600 meters2 is so far South Asia's second largest tower and the tallest tower in Sri Lanka.
A sum of USD 104 million has been spent for the construction of the tower out of which 80 percent of the cost has been borne by the Chinese Exim Bank.
The director of the tower's construction project said that the tower is nearing completion as of now.
The tower comprises a telecommunications museum, a hotel, a restaurant, an auditorium, a conference hall, a ball room and an observation deck along with luxury hotel rooms.
Out of a total four entrances to the tower, two have been reserved for special guests.
