The Ministry of Power and Energy has appointed a five member committee to look probe the Ceylon Electricity Board's (CEB) move to impose a sudden power cut in many parts of the island on Monday (3) without prior authorization.
The committee includes Sulakshana Jayawardena, Prof. Rahula Attalage and H. Samarakoon.
The committee will look into who was responsible for the decision to impose power cuts without informing either Minister Mahinda Amaraweera or the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka; the power sector regulator.
