The Constitutional Council today (Dec 12) unanimously approved nomination made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa regarding the appointment of High Court judge Ms. M.D. S. Abeyratne as a Court of Appeal Judge.
The nomination was made by the President in terms of Articles 107 (1) and 41A (1) of the Constitution, a statement from the Parliament's Department of Communication said.
The vacancy came into effect following the retirement of Court of Appeal Judge Deepali Wijesundara.
