A construction worker has died while three were left injured after a scaffolding had collapsed during the construction of a building in Homagama yesterday (Sept 24).
According to the police, other materials had also been placed on the scaffolding and had collapsed with all three individuals who had been admitted to the Homagama hospital.
The deceased individual has been identified as 30-year old Alexander Jayavisan, a resident of Vavuniya. His remains lie at the Homagama hospital.
Meanwhile, one injured worker has been transferred to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for further treatment, police said adding that further investigations are underway.
