A fresh investigation to be launched to the death of former Sri Lankan rugby player Wasim Thajudeen, who reportedly died in road accident in Colombo, police said. Police spokesperson Ajith Rohana said according to the evidences of Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) and Government Analyst (GA) report it has been confirmed that the death occured under mysterious circumstances. In 2012 May the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) started investigations regarding the death of the rugby player but it was awaiting for the report from the GA. Police said that Thajudeen had been driving in a car to the airport when he had lost control and crashed into a wall , minutes later the car exploded and whole car was burnt.
