Army intelligence officer Corporal Lalith Rajapaksa has been remanded until July 21 over the assault of newspaper editor Upali Tennakoon in 2009.
The order was issued by the Gampaha Magistrate's court today (Jul 8).
Rajapaksa was arrested today after the CID matched his fingerprint with that which were found in a van used on the day of the assault.
The suspect had been serving as a member of the controversial Tripoli Army Camp in Maradana which is alleged to have been involved in some assault cases.
