Countrywide anti-SAITM strike begins

A countrywide 24-hour token strike launched against the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) began at 8.00am today. 

The strike is spearheaded by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA). Other trade unions in the health sector as well as those from the education sector are also taking part in the strike, the GMOA said.
