Three suspects were sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court today (Jun 21) for killing a woman due to a personal dispute which took place in 1991.
Charges had been levelled by the Attorney General against the suspects for stabbing the woman to death in Bambalapitiya on October 15, 1991.
Issuing the verdict, High Court judge Sampath Wijeratne announced that the charges against the suspects have been proved beyond a reasonable doubt. As such the judge had sentenced the supects to death.
