The Puttalam Magistrates Court yesterday (Feb 08) recorded a statement from a mother who had confessed to have killed her four-year old child in Puttalam.
Court had decided to record a statement from the suspect after she had requested to provide a special statement before Puttalam Chief Magistrate Indrajith Buddhadasa, when the case was taken up for a hearing yesteday.
Accordingly, the recording of the statement had taken place from 3:05pm to 04:20 pm before the Chief Magistrate and his typist.
It was then announced that the hearing of the case would be adjourned until February 12.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
