The Colombo Fort Magistrates Court has called for evidence to be submitted regarding DIG Nalaka de Silva's involvement in the alleged VIP assassination plot.
The case was taken up for hearing before Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today (Mar 06).
Justice Ajith Pathirana representing the accused had requested court to release his client since sufficient evidence was not available to arrest the latter over this case.
However, Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris representing the Attorney General had told court that there was sufficient evidence to prove the defendant's involvement in the case.
Accordingly, the Magistrate instructed the prosecution to submit a complete report containing the evidence, before courts on March 19.
