The decision on whether former DIG Nalaka de Silva will be released or not over the alleged VIP assassination plot will be announced by the Colombo Fort Magistrates Court on April 09.
This was announced when the case was taken up before Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today (Mar 26).
Former DIG de Silva has been accused of involvement in the case pertaining to the alleged assassination plot of President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Meanwhile, court was notified through a letter by the Prisons Department that Mr. Silva would not be present during today's hearing as the accused was feeling unwell.
