The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has decided that only important cases will be taken up in the next few days in view of the coronavirus threat.
Accordingly cases with calling dates and new cases will not be taken up, JSC sources said.
Cases listed for trial will be taken up depending on the legal representations made.
The decision was reached when the JSC held a meeting presided over by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya.
Earlier the Bar Association of Sri Lanka also called for the closure of courts for the next four days
