Two new COVID-19 patients have been identified so far today (16), Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe stated.
One of these patients is an individual undergoing quarantine at the Meeyankulam quarantine centre and the other is a returnee from Chennai and is currently at the Kandakadu quarantine centre.
The latest patients raise the number of COVID-19 patients in the country to 937 of whom 520 have completely recovered and been discharged from hospital.
The number of persons still undergoing hospital treatment now stands at 408.
A total of 908 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (15) and it resulted in 10 persons being confirmed as having been infected with COVID-19.
