The number of COVID-19 patients in the country now stand at 1085 after 17 new patients were detected today (23).
Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe stated that 15 of the new patients are navy personnel. Ten of them are at the Kandakadu quarantine centre while the other five are at the Mullaitivu quarantine centre.
The other two patients had recently returned from Dubai and are at the Giragama quarantine centre.
A total of 660 out of the 1085 patients have already been discharged from hospital after making a complete recovery.
The number of those undergoing hospital treatment now stand at 416.
A total of 1970 PCR tests were conducted yesterday and 13 patients were identified through testing.
