The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CP) has sent a reminder to the Power and Energy Ministry over an outstanding fuel bill arrears amounting to nearly Rs 90 billion.
The CPC has pointed out that the CEB has failed to pay up the bills and as a result the CPC was facing serious financial issues in providing uninterrupted fuel supplies to the CEB from this month.
The CPC pointed out that the CEB had exceeded the approved credit limit.
As a result, the CPC pointed out that its Board of Directors has decided to continue the fuel supply to CEB power plants subject to the settlement of 50 per cent of the monthly bills of CEB while increasing the credit limit upto a maximum of Rs 90 billion.
