The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has said that it would not be open for trading at the regular time on Monday (Apr 22). A communication is to follow on the resumption of trading.
This decision was made along with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) having considered the tragic events that have taken place in the country today.
"The curfew which has been imposed, places primary emphasis on the safety and security of its people and market participants, and the constraints imposed on their mobility," a press release from the CSE read.
Accordingly, the release noted that an assessment would be conducted on the conditions necessary for an orderly conduct of the market following which further communications would follow.
