The curfew in three police areas in the Gampaha district is continuing as authorities continued to trace those who may have come into contact with the garment factory employee infected with Coronavirus.
As many as 7,000 persons including persons from the garment factory, those who had associated with the family of the garment factory employee and their families have been put on a 14-day quarantine. Among those put on quarantine are 400 garment factory employees.
The curfew is effective in the Minuwangoda, Divulapitiya and Weyangoda areas.
At least 10 persons who violated the curfew were arrested overnight.
Army Commander Shavendra Silva who is also the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak called for the strict enforcement of precautions to prevent spread of Coronavirus after the detection of a COVID-19 patient from the society after nearly five months.
