An island-wide curfew will be in effect from 10 pm tonight until 4am tomorrow, police said.
The decision to impose the curfew had been made after considering the current situation of the country. Accordingly, the general public have been requested to stay away from roads, railway tracks, and parks while the curfew is in effect.
Those who require visiting the above mentioned areas during the curfew will have to seek permission from the OIC’s of the police stations in their respective localities. A travel pass would then be granted after considering the request, police said.
However, passengers who require to board a flight during this period will be able to use their air tickets as a travel pass to reach the airports during the curfew.
Journalists too will be able to use the media ID cards provided by their repective media outlets or the Government Information Department to travel during this period.
