The curfew which was imposed in the Negombo Police Division last evening was lifted at 7 am today (May 06).
Yesterday, police had imposed a curfew in the areas belonging to the Meegamuwa, Kochchikade, Katunayaka, Divulapitiya, Kotedeniya, Pamunugama, Raddolugama, Seeduwa, Dungalpitiya and Katana Police Divisions.
The decision to impose a curfew was made following a fight between two groups in the Poruthota area in Meegamuwa.
The Police Headquarters said that the situation has been brought under control by security forces.
