The island-wide curfew that was imposed at 6.00pm on Friday (20) was lifted today except in eight districts. The curfew that was lifted today is due to be reimposed at 2.00pm today.
However, the curfew continues to be in force in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam and all districts of the Northern Province, namely Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Jaffna districts till 6.00am tomorrow (24).
Moreover, people in the Northern Province will not be allowed to travel outside their area of residence until further notice, the Presidential Secretariat added.
