The three customs officers who were arrested and remanded for soliciting a bribe of Rs 125 million were released on bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate today (Dec 1).
The officers were released on cash bails of Rs 100,000 each and three sureties each of Rs 5 million each.
A travel ban was also imposed on them. They were ordered to appear before the Bribery Coomission on the last Sunday of each month. The case was fixed for February 16, 2016.
