Collection of Electoral registers in the flood affected areas has been extended by 10 days,the government news portal reported.
Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya was quoted yesterday as saying this decision was taken considering the situation in the affected areas, but the Electoral registers in the other districts will be collected on the due date.
He said a flexible system will be introduced for Differently abled people to cast their votes while Election Commission is considering introducing a special voting system for people who don’t have the right for postal voting.
