Defence Ministry refutes reports of Lankan sniper served in SL Army
Sri Lanka's Defense Ministry has refuted media reports which said that a Sri Lankan sniper arrested by Maldivian authorities served in the Sri Lankan military, the government news portal reported.
Acting Director of the Defense Ministry Media Center Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera said that according to information uncovered so far the suspect has not been attached to the Sri Lankan military.
Media reports on Thursday said that Maldives Police have arrested a Sri Lankan sniper in Maldives days after a sniper rifle bullet was found in the biggest weapons bust in the country's recent history.
