The newly appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Defense Kapila Waidyaratne assumed duties yesterday at the Ministry, government news portal reported.
Mr. Waidyaratne, a former Deputy Solicitor General was appointed to this post by the President.
Mr. Kapila Waidyaratne is an Old Boy of St. Thomas College, Mt. Lavinia. He began his career in 1983 joining the Attorney General's Office as an Acting State Counsel and later in 2005 assumed the role of Deputy Solicitor General, the statement said.
