A project to prevent the spread of dengue is being implemented at the examination centers where the Scholarship Examination and the GCE Advanced Level Examination will be held.
The Commissioner General of Examinations, B. Sanath Poojitha had informed the Ministry of Health, National Dengue Eradication Unit, Provincial Education Directors, Zonal Education Directors and Principals to carry out fumigation surrounding all examination centres during the exam season.
He further informs Provincial Education Directors, Zonal Education Directors and Principals to implement these dengue eradication programmes in collaboration with provincial health service directors and district health service directors with the assistance of the parents.
The postponed Grade 5 scholarship programme is to be held on 11th of October 2020 on 2,936 examination centres. 2020 GCE (A/L) examination is scheduled to be held from 12th of October 2020 – 06th of November 2020 at 2,648 examination centres located island-wide.
