Issuing a statement, the NDCU’s Consultant Physician Dr. Prashila Samaraweera noted that 45,000 people had contracted the fever so far this year.
Dr. Samaraweera observed that there were 44 deaths recorded last year while 39,000 individuals were affected during the first nine months of last year.
