Three parliamentarians who took oaths as Deputy Ministers before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa were sworn in again as State Ministers yesterday (Nov 27).
Accordingly, the newly-appointed caretaker cabinet will comprise 16 ministers and 38 state ministers. There will be no deputy ministers.
State Minister Kanchana Wijesekara who was also initially sworn in as Deputy Minister told Times Online that the second swearing in had taken place at the Presidential Secretariat at 4 pm.
