Disaster Management Ministry has decided to provide Rs.10,000 as compensation to the families affected by the adverse weather conditions.
Secretary to the Ministry, Engineer Sisira Kumara speaking to local media said that over 350 houses have been damaged due to the extreme weather conditions experienced across the island over the past few days.
He also added that measures have been taken to estimate the cost of the damage caused and compensation to be paid.
