The Legal Officers’ Association (LOA) of the Attorney General’s Department has decided to submit its opinion regarding the government’s proposal to set up a Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) to handle criminal cases independently of the AG’s Department.
The opinion will include views from officers at the AG’s Department regarding the proposal, which will shift criminal cases away from the department to the newly set up DPP. Views are to be obtained in the coming week to enable the LOA to formulate its own proposal on the matter.
