Dispute between Kapumahaththayas delays religious rites at Kataragama

Religious rites at the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devalaya were delayed this morning causing a tense situation among devotees. 

It is reported that a dispute had arisen between the 'Kapumahaththayas' at the Devalaya who are in charge of the poojas. This had resulted in one group taking the keys away from the Devalaya, which meant that the doors to the Maha Devalaya could not be opened for the conduct of religious rites. 

However, the dispute was later resolved and religious rites began again. .
