The NPP candidate, stressed that poverty in the rural areas of the country should be eradicated along with the debts of the people. “To resolve this situation, we should uplift the lives of the people by developing their modes of income,” he pointed out.

Dissanayake, said that seeds of a high quality will be sold to farmers at reasonable rates under his rule, to ensure nourishment in the country. He added that proper irrigation systems too would be implemented to uplift the agricultural sector.
